La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero DL-654

After the amazing L-250 I smoked yesterday, I stopped at The Wharf to do some work on a site after visiting with my 91 year old Grandpa.  Since that 250 was so good, I opted to double down and try the double ligero.  It's a much larger vitola so I was sweating a little expecting a double strength powerhouse.  How was it?  Let's see....

Construction: This big toro size is a very rustic looking cigar.  Only one vein that I could see.  Overall a nice looking cigar.

Pre-light Aroma and Draw: There is a nice sweet spicy tobacco aroma to this cigar.  A whiff of the foot gave me something that reminded me of chili powder for some reason.  The draw is very nice as well.

Light and Burn: Two matches and she blazed to life right away.  The burn has been spot on.  I mean laser perfect.

Tasting: This is a more mild cigar than the little oscuro 250....which really shocks me.  I picked up a nice Cuban metallic sweetness, black coffee, spice, cream, and cinnamon.  Very balanced and consistent.

Value: At about $8 and some change, the 654 is not too hateful.

Final Thoughts: It's another terrific cigar by LFD....I am not sure how it isn't as powerful as the 250, but it still packs a bit of a wallop. This cigar is definitely recommended.
