Flor de D’Crossier Selection 512 Hermosos No. 2

Another fabled brand to review today.  The D'Crossier Selection 512.  This is the lower cost D'Crossier packed in vacuum sealed cans lined with cedar.  It's a classic looking cigar with a very Cuban looking band.  I have been dying to try this line actually as the standard line I tried last Fall was wasted on my palate after I had already smoked way too many that day.  So, here goes.

Off the starting line the 512 gives off notes of minerals, green apple, corn tortillas, and roasted nuts.  Nice and smooth so far and another unusual profile - following the Sobremesa's, which was out of this world unique.  There is a bread note too - close to sourdough - that adds to the unique flavor set.  A very light touch of pepper, cedar, and some black coffee.  Into the middle things get really smooth and creamy - a nice change after the first third.  A note of cheese - maybe a sharp cheddar to me - pops in...another unique flavor.  As the cigar finishes it really levels out in terms of flavor and locks into a nice medium bodied smoke.  This is one I could smoke anytime.  Highly recommended!

UPDATE: I smoked my way through another of these last night.  The profile is so unusual and so delicious that I already find myself daydreaming about smoking another one.
